Douthat was last seen by a co-worker on 10/25/2013, where he was dropped off at Chaps Tavern on Campbell Avenue in Roanoke City, sometime near 4:00 p.m. Patrons at the establishment that evening confirmed seeing Douthat there up until approximately 8:00 p.m. It is unknown how Douthat left or if he left with another person. It was also found that Douthat told an acquaintance that he was at the Food Lion on Bennington Avenue in Roanoke City waiting on them for a ride at approximately 5:00 p.m.; however, when that acquaintance arrived to pick him up, Douthat was not there. Douthat has been missing since this date and has not had any contact with family or friends. Vinton Police are asking for anyone who might have information as to Douthat's disappearance or current whereabouts, to please call and relay that information.
